Sometimes, a Picture is Not Enough

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but not even a thousand words could describe what a fabulous day yesterday was. It was the kind of day that left you with heavy, droopy eyelids begging for sleep as you try to read that article you've been saving. The kind of day that leaves you with tingly, sunburned lips the next day, and happy, aching muscles when you wake up. The kind of day that makes your heart hurt with all the happy you feel for the fantastic friendships you've made. The kind of day where you wish you had a waterproof camera, so you settle for iPhone pics taken at the dock. But at the same time you're glad you don't have a waterproof camera because you know that a picture wouldn't do it justice. There is something just so calming about the lake. Floating on a paddle board, surrounded by the sparkling water that's dancing for the sun that's drifting lazily down onto your pale legs, the laughter of your best friends drifting into your ears, the happy from your heart leaking onto your lips and spreading them into a goofy grin. Summer, I love you.
Sincerely, mad
